A friend posed for this drawing. I first drew this with graphite, then applied an acrylic ground over the graphite. I completed the painting using oil paint glazes. This painting won 3rd place in Texas Congressional Art Competition in April 2007.

This composition was created by combining different landscape elements from my memories of travel across the American West. I used bees wax colored with dry pigments. Then I further blended the colors on the wood using a heat gun.

A diptych of a mother elephant with her young painted following a study of pairs. The structure of the ears of the elephant was done with the application of leather cloth and acrylic paste. Creases in the trunks created with hot glue, then painted over with acrylic paint.
